Testing the waters is always a good start to things. I like where your going with it, hope to see it more full.
Like it alot, but needs adjustments.
The interface of it was awesome, a plus on allowing to change your controls, and love the arm with the menu.
I think you should make a pause button, and when it pops up, have controls there to quit, or options for changing controls. Also, the weapons selected should stay in the inventory until taken out or replaced. I constantly found myself rushing into the next round and forgetting my sword. I also think the strength should increase, or the ability to buy strength upgrades.
Other then that, very nice...Also, continues costing $2,800 is kinda ridiculous I think. The guy previous' statement on making the levels not playable again would allow for continues to be free but limited depending on the level of difficulty. *Shrug*

Well, since you have no interest in remaking this, I'll just tell ya some things for whenever you make a game again. Good job on coding, runs smooth. Graphics are what makes the file size large, I dunno what method you did...but if make MovieClips in Flash, if you export them as bmp's of pngs at high quality, then import them and break them up into a solid not vector image, it greatly reduces the size. As others said it's very simple and not hard, but is still appreciated. Just wanted to give ya a tip for next time.
Not sure what you were getting at about the graphics tip, no vectors were used anywhere, it was all tweened png's from Photoshop.
But glad you liked the game. =)
not to bad
Very remisque of Atari, so ya got points there, not to bad of a job, quick simple game.
Not to bad
But there are bugs, for instance, they move to fast and it's choppy, doesn't flow with the background..........also, you can't move diagnol in the older game, but in this you can, if you want to prevent that, add something along the lines of (Key.onKeyDown(Key.UP) && Key.onKeyDown(Key.RIGHT)
//then enter something along the lines of//
this._x += -2
this._y -= +2
generally your wanting to cancel out the moving of the x and y axis....OR....you can just put this._x += 6 or whatever to make it only go in one direction.
This was an addicting fun game........someone before me posted they got to level 12, I had to beat that, and I ended up beating all 25 levels :\. Level 13 gave me the most trouble though, but oh well. It was fun, I enjoyed it, time for bed.
I must say man...
I am an artist myself, not as old as you so not as much expierience but I'm a good artists and you know as an artists yourself that it's hard to be impressed, I must say, you have impressed me and thats not the easiest of things to do. I just have one question. What coding did you use for the hittest on objects cause I'm making a game myself and I'm trying to figure out the hitTest but am unable to do so, if you could tell me that'd be great. If you ever need a second artists for designing characters, doing voices, flash art, music or whatever, e-mail me, I'd be more then glad to do something with ya. (e-mails firstname.lastname@example.org) thanks for the entertainment man, keep up the good work.
